Chipper Another MacKissic chipper question

Another thing, I didn't like with the bearcat was the chipper discharge was on the bottom of the machine and it seemed I was raking chips out of the way every couple of minutes.

True of the Mackissic as well. There are several ways to make this less of an issue. A long tarp which can be pulled along a bit every once in a while to pull the latest chips out from under is probably the easiest.

Personally, since I use my chips for mulch, I kick the chips out from under and when it gets to be too much to just kick around, I move the tractor. This way, when I'm done chipping, I'm also done spreading the chips. It works for me.

Well, I found a used Goosen and I bought it. It needs new shredder knives and some paint, but I got a good deal on it.

I do most of my chipping/shredding beside my pile. Just scoope away stuff from the discharge every so often onto my pile with a big scoop shovel, or raise unit, back up, scoop up with FEL and deposit onto pile.

If not beside the pile, I just scoop up the shreddings with the FEL and carry it to my compost pile and dump it.

I notice in the new DR catalog that they offer both a bottom discharge and top (chute type) discharge unit. The top discharge is a bit more expensive but still only about $22xx. The bottom discharge one is near the same price as the Mac and does up to 4 1/2".
