My 2240 already had a loader when I bought it but, the old 2 lever valve was bad. I replaced it with a joystick type. It does not use the power beyond port and is setup closed center. The pressure line is teed into the hard line going to the lift box and rear remote. The out line is plumbed into the filter housing. I think it's a kit that be bought from JD.

so the rock shaft control valve will be labeled as such?Your loader valve should have three ports in addition to the four for the loader cylinders. In, Out, Beyond.
Going from your rockshaft control valve it should have two ports marked Aux In, and Aux Out.
A plug is installed inside (internal) in the Aux Out port. This prevent flow to the rockshaft.
From rockshaft Aux Out port go to loader valve IN port.
From loader valve Beyond port go to rockshaft Aux In port.
From loader valve Out port go to Sump (a return to the transmission sump)
so the rock shaft control valve will be labeled as such?
