Corporate income taxes are merely a political trick that many buy into. Politicians LOVE to cry about "they need to pay their fair share", but it's simply a shell game. And people, being people, love to believe that some corporate somebody is out there that ought to be taxed a whole lot more than themselves....not realizing they've been suckered.

Business doesn't pay tax, it merely passes that on as cost of doing business to real people, who pay ALL taxes, either directly, or in the higher cost of goods/services. ALL costs of business flow downhill to the consumer of the product of that business.....simple as that.

Any profit a business makes ultimately goes to the owners/shareholders, who then pay tax on that income, or gets rolled into research/development of new products, or capital improvements or whatever...business don't somehow magically "get away" with tax evasion as many seem to think.

Follow the money.

Many years ago I had a neighbor that worked for the phone company ( a monopoly at the time ) and there were complaints about the rates being to high. The politicians decided to raise the taxes on them. Neighbor was fine with that, turns out that the phone company rates were set by law to provide a 10% profit, the only thing raising taxes would do is raise the fees to the consumer and provide a little more in profit.

Just for information, here is an Amazon comparison that any TBM member should be able to relate to.

A 60" Titan Extreme HD Root Grapple weighing 815 lbs. is listed on Amazon for $1849.95 with free shipping, but... plus tax.
Amazon total is thus $1849.95 plus $115.62 (my state tax is 6.25%) = $1965.47 total.

The EXACT SAME 60" Titan Extreme HD Root Rake is available elsewhere on the internet for $1572.46 (also with free delivery, but... no tax).
The Amazon cost for this exact same delivered item is $393.11 MORE!
What a deal!
By buying the 60" Titan Extreme HD Root Rake Grapple from Amazon,.....the just pure pleasure of buying from Amazon would add 25% additional cost ???
Too much for my wallet!

From time to time I do buy items from Amazon, but I always compare Amazon's pricing with other sources before buying.

1849.95 - 1572.46 = 277.49 difference for the item, shipped.

Tax is still due whether the merchant collects it or you pay your state direct.

Totals then become 1965.57 (1849.95 + 115.62) - 1670.74 (1572.46 + 98.28) = 324.83 Savings. Still much better.

I buy a lot from Amazon...it's the go to for many items.....BUT for a long time I double check pricing on everything. You've got to price check them. Seems the more expensive the item, the more likely they are not the cheapest. And viewing prime movies is fairly frequent.

I agree that "tax is still due".
Do you know of many folks who voluntarily send in sales tax to their state, for items purchased without tax, and/or private sales?
I do not believe that I have never met such a person, and although they may exist, I suspect they are very rare.

We do at work, but we also get audited by the state to make sure we are paying all our sales tax.

I checked on a RolAir air compressor the other day and found the similar situation.

33% off seems like a fantastic deal to me!

33% off of what is what you need to be asking yourself.

Generally speaking, nothing in life is free, and when companies give stuff away at below cost, generally they don't stay in business long.

If I've got a good thing going where I'm saving GOOD money by buying online, I see no reason why to share that information with the rest of the world. Palmetto State Armory is open to all who know about it:D
