I have set and reset my preferences and every time I load a topic it displays the newest post first. I have tried Oldest post which should make the #1 post in the thread load first and this is where I have it set now. I tried newest post and it loads the same way. If a topic has multiple pages of replies I can click on the 1 and it will load the #1 post first. Any topic that I click on the topic link loads newest or last post first. I tried threaded and it loads the first post but none of the replies. How can this be fixed?

Are you referring to sort order (ie: page 1 being newest vs the oldest) or which post it opens to when you click on the thread?
If you are referring to which post the thread opens to when you open the thread, this forum (unlike most others) forces you to go to the newest unread post in the thread if there any unread posts.
No way to change it on a user by user basis and the last time they tried to change it sitewide, there was a lot of grumpy people, so it got changed back.

I've been having a similar problem the last few days. Only a few threads though. Only loads page 1. When I click on page 2 it reloads page 1. I have to reverse the order to read new replies. Thought it was my computer but haven't done anything different lately. Same threads seem to work fine on my phone.

This is not normal for any other forum I am a member of. The general settings show the option to select linear - oldest first, linear - newest first, threaded, and hybrid. If I select threaded it changes the way the topics display but selecting oldest or newest makes no difference.

They should make it so the user can select the option they want and have it work.

I just tried the hybrid and it sort of works but on threads with multiple pages it won't load past the first page.

Sorry, I was referring to how the links to open a thread from a list of threads work.
What you are reporting is odd. I have had mine set to linear oldest first for some time and it has been working fine. I just tried switching to linear newest first, threaded and hybrid and those all worked for me.

If its not loading past the first page that is not normal, you probbaly have a corrupted file or cookie cached. See my link above on how to clear your cache.
