air horn

I know mr. 4shorts had a post about putting an air horn on his kubota 5740 sometime ago and was wondering how it was holding out. had read some reports on
the Stebel horn that they were not too good in dust and vibration . would like to put one of some kind on my 5740 and also my jd. one on jd died and the other sounds
sick. any thoughts on this ?

You can add a 12V air compressor and small air tank, then install any type of air horn you want. They make air compressors that run off your fan belt too, if you have lots of money to throw at it...... If you look around on Dodge/Chevy/Ford diesel truck forums you will get lots of hits on air horns..... Good luck, Jerry

The company that the OP mentions - Stebel - does make them. I had one of theirs (the Compact Truck Air Horn) on my cargo van - nice horn and tone - but it got trashed due to water/salt spray .... possibly due to the mounting location I chose.

Might fare better on a tractor if you could find a mounting location that was protected and dry.

Also, Harbor Freight has a one piece compressor and dual air horn units called "The Bad Boy" that they sell for about $5.00 less than AutoZone about $39... before the usual 20% off coupon. But you'll have to buy a horn switch elsewhere.

Yes it's the same one as on the WOLO website, but way cheaper...
