air filter warning light?

Im out blowing snow this morning, about +2f dry light snow, about 5 inches. After about 40 minutes my air filter warning light came on. This happened about a year ago also, so i put in new filters. Is anyone else having these problems with their kubotas. If so what do you do. change out filters and let the old ones dry out??? Or just keep on chugging? Last year i had a rear mount blower, this year is the new front mount erskine.

I had exactly the same problem with a John Deere 4520 Compact Utility Tractor and an Erskine front mount snow blower. I had to change out the filters twice during snow removal under very similar conditions also happened a year ago. Called local JD dealership and spoke with service manager. Deere currently offers no solution. I'm thinking about making a canvas cover to go over hood and grill guard that will hang down as low as possible to allow snow to drop before being sucked up into the grill.

I think my warning light came on from moisture in the wiring to the sensor. I took a heat gun the the wiring, warmed everything up and have not had a problem since.(blowed snow several times). If i have any more problems i think i'll try to make a snorkel to the other side of the rad?

we had a customer with a 3520 fill her air filter with snow last week. cold, fine blowing
snow finds it's way thru the front grill and into the filter inlet. after a while it created
enough restriction and her dash indicator came on.
there was a suggestion in the JD tech system, which was to rotate the filter housing
so that the air intake was pointing to the rear of the engine compartment, drawing air
from there instead of coming in thru the front grill. i haven't heard back since we
suggested she try that.

Thats the way mine is now when i had the problem, pointing toward the rad.

Sometimes when it' really cold, my Bobcat S185 will sound a beep and the light indicating that the air filter isn't functioning comes on. The machine is always stored inside and there have never been any issues with snow or anything else blocking it.
I just let it warm up and then operate as usual. No consequences so far.

Well must have jinxed myself, went to start the tractor this morning, no go, Air filter frozen solid. Go pick up new filters install, fired right up. No room for a snorkel without cutting hood or side panels so ill try putting a cover over the nose of the kubota and see what happens with that. Hopefully the old filters will dry out a be reusable.

Okay another update, installed two layers of cotton bed sheet over nose and held in place on front latch and side panels. I will see how this works. If it overheats i'll try one layer.

I HAVE to use a foam pre-filter on my Pasquali 993 to keep the dry snow from getting sucked into the air-filter neck & freezing into a lump. I just cut a piece of air filter foam (happened to be pink, not my personal choice), into a donut shape & slipped it over the neck covering the intake holes. Works great during the winter, & I use another in the summer saturated in air filter oil, to keep 90% of the large dirt particles out of my oil-bath air filter unit.

I wonder if you could find one of those nylon wraps similar to the ones that some motorcycle/small engine air filters have covering them to keep moisture out?
