I'm hoping to communicate with someone familiar with the fuel and/or fuel control systems used of the Same built engines whether air cooled or liquid cooled that used a governor similar to what's (hopefully) pictured below. This tractor apparently quit running while in operation earlier this week. Lack of fuel (or fuel supply) was suspected and checked but the engine hasn't run since. It will attempt to start, stumble around for a few seconds with much noise and smoke but never really run. Then the smoke disappears and it just cranks as if there is no fuel. Numerous attempts today produced the same results. I even added and electric pump as a temporary supply between the filter and the pumping unit inlet and got no improvement, so I'm pretty sure it's not a fuel supply problem. I suspect the problem is mechanical, something to do with the governor or whatever mechanism controls the rod rotating the individual pump plunger units but really don't know how to confirm that.
