If there is a law about false charges, then press charges. You have a constitutional right to face your accuser. They will have to tell you the identity of the individual.

I have not seen a dog house in years around here, it's considered neglect to leave a dog out all day and night now.
Our dogs never came in the house but very rarely, straw bedding in their house and it was cozy warm even short haired dogs. I would climb in there with them when I was younger

It's amazing how people put their own lack of control to handle ANY discomfort onto the rest of society and animals. Just two weeks ago some lady wrote a letter to the editor complaining about her neighbour leaving the dog out all day while away at work. It was disheartening to see that the paper actually printed the letter.
My dog would spend all the time outside if we let her, no matter what the weather. We bring her in at night because she barks to keep the animals away and we don't want her disturbing the neighbours (or us for that matter).
My wife does the same irrational worrying to some extent. Early this winter I looked out to see she was cobbling together a rickety "roof" (I've learned to just "let it go") out of 4 pieces of 4x4 and plywood so the dog could be out of the falling snow. It is in her favourite place where she (i.e. the dog
) can run the world. It drove my wife crazy--the dog would lie in front of the house with the snow pelting down. In addition to blocking her view, the dog probably knew the thing was unsafe. It blew over a few weeks ago! :laughing:About 1/2 the people up here leave their dogs out all the time. They're fine and actually prefer it that way.

I share your frustration, Soundguy. I'm in the middle of an incorporated city with three horses, two dogs, a dozen chickens, and a cat. One of my biggest fears is that my good neighbors will move out and I'll get whiney complaining neighbors that don't appreciate being that close to animals.
I've decided that if I start getting complaints, I'll just subdivide my place into 6 lots and sell them to go buy a bigger place further out in the country.
