I have not seen a dog house in years around here, it's considered neglect to leave a dog out all day and night now.

Our dogs never came in the house but very rarely, straw bedding in their house and it was cozy warm even short haired dogs. I would climb in there with them when I was younger :)

You would think after a few times coming out to your place for no reason the animal control people would tend to the "anonymous" party themselves. I'm sure that they don't like their time being wasted either.

Soundguy, I don't blame you in the least for being furious about the situation, it appears to me somebody has a grudge against you and is making these complaints for no reason except to be a p****. Now, I have to wonder about the competence of the office handling the complaints, it should have been very obvious from their first inspection that nothing is amiss, and they are WRONG to treat the second complaint as fact. If they tell you "we HAVE to investigate every complaint..." something is wrong with their operating policies, and those need to be changed to protect people from unfounded accusations.

I wonder if this is the officials secret way of checking out what you have/own to tax on or something along those lines?

I don't think they have to go undercover like that. They can come and check what you got anytime they want to. Around here someone shows up about every 3 years to see if we have made any taxable improves they don't know about.

Why do you have to be there for the officer to see the condition of the animals? If the person calling in the complaint can see the animals in question, why do YOU have to be there for the officer to see the animals?

If the officer can see the animals from the fence line why is the livestock owner bothered?

If it happens a third time I would start talking with supervisors. The officer should have some discretion on how to handle the call. I would hope FLA does not have a statutory requirement for the officer's response.

Why send out officials into the field when Google can supply them information right at the office?

I once dated a girl who worked for DCFS. In Illinois, those are the people who check on kids that are abused or neglected. She used to be on call and responded to complaints on nights and weekends. You would be suprised that it is the same situation, people used the agency to harass other people. Not too much you can really do about Soundguy.

Soundguy, sorry to hear that someone is causing you problems. When there really are abused animals that need help.
