Thank you for all the great ideas! I am definitely going to look into a grapple. Any economical recommendations?

Grapple and economical just don't go together! I just priced the single bolt on grapple with the diverter valve kit from WR Long and the whole kit for my tractor is right at $1355. That doesn't include the shipping charges from Tarboro, NC. Still, though, it's got me thinking.... Maybe my tax refunds will cover it?? :thumbsup:

I have the WR Long diverter and Gator light duty grapple. Not exactly "economical" @ about $2k (~60% of cost being grapple, 40% being the hydraulics) with installation but I feel it was money well spent based on my uses for the tractor. You can save a few hundred dollars by going the rear hydraulic route and installing it yourself(and you just need the grapple if you already have rear outlets). I personally love the diverter but if i didn't know better, the rear hydraulic option would probably work well. The grapple rarely leaves the loader arms as i use it for brush removal, rock removal and other random things that I have had to pick up.

There ya go.... if there's a will there's a way!! :thumbsup: I didn't have a grapple with my first tractor - and I was FRUSTRATED - trying to clear ground of stumps, small trees, brush.

Forks are a poor substitute...

Built a thumb for my backhoe and that made the situation more bearable. Finally, said to heck with it and jumped in "cannonball style"!!! Got a grapple and a thumb!

And I'm happy to say - "the water's just fine"!
