Adding rear hydraulic connection to BX2670

If no implement is on the rear that requires hydraulics, the two PB lines are "looped" or hooked together to keep the continuous flow (post #6 above). Please do some searching-there are hundreds of threads on this-not necessary pertaining to your 2370, but the theory is the same for every tractor. What your doing is no different than the many "adding a rear remote" threads, just your valve is mounted on the implement and not the tractor.

Here is the way JD does it:

Now it makes sense.

I didn't really understand the concept of open-center hydraulics.

Thanks for your time.

Good point. Probably better off with a standalone log-splitter. That way I also have use of the tractor to move the logs and split wood around.

Agree with this...especially since your tractor pumps less than 7GPM...would make for slow cycle times (especially with a large cylinder)
Along with that...why do you need a winch...a 2670 should be able to pull logs as well as a winch?...just curious...?

Less need to cut lanes through the woods. Ability to access trees in areas that wouldn't support a tractor (soft swampy spots, ravines). Ability to use the winch to get a 'snag' to come down from a safe distance.
In a industrial clear-cutting operation, there is no need for a winch. To take out select trees from a parcel, it is a good tool.

Why not just use a 12v winch? They well pull more the a BX can hold.

Any 12V winch that has the speed and pull of a logging winch is going to put a lot of drain onto the rather modest electrical system. Unless you go with something commercial, it is not going stand up to the duty cycle of reeling in 100ft of cable several times in a row.

A key feature in a skidding winch is the spade/shield that anchors the tractor during the pull. So if I wanted to build an electric skidding winch, I would have to fabricate that, install the winch, probably provide additional batteries. Probably better to go with an implement built for the job.

Not sure if this is still the case on the BX2670, but on the BX2660, if you look on the back of the tractor, there is a steel line that goes across the back of the transmission case under the upper link of the 3 point. It is the high pressure line between the loader valve and the 3 point hitch valve.
That can be removed and replaced with a pair of "soft lines" to give you power beyond.

That would be the most straightforward solution. Install a plate with two couplers and a loop of hose like shown in the pic of the JD.

I wonder how the backhoe and loader are plumbed in the BX25. Do they use a different hydraulic block on the transmission or is the PB for the backhoe just a loop in that line ?

Just wanted to add that your available flow for attachments is actually 4.2gpm in case you need to figure out winch requirements/speed.
