Looking to add a 2nd rear remote to my 6000. Called local dealer and kit is about $575. Anyone done this, purchased kit, installed. What is involved? Does the kit come with steel lines? Should I hire it out, or is it relativley simple. I never seem to have much luck bleeding hydraulic lines, is that part of the process?

Siippy, it'll be interesting to see what the responses are....I'm embarrassed to say this, but I've never used the remote on mine---don't have anything that requires it (Have PTO pump for the BH). I think I saw a unit that splits the one that's there and makes a double (both run off the same plumbing). Not sure how it works but it may be worth a look...I believe I saw it on this site somewhere....BobG in VA

You're talking about the hydraulic multiplier. It doubles existing hyd outlets, you can control 2 or more circuits from your tractor lever, is universal, and has a plug in design for valve and controls. Fasse makes them and I see them selling for about $405.;)

I did a couple of different searchs but did not find anything like that. Will need second control. I want to add a tilt cylinder to adjust my box blade. I use the one I have for things like my 10' cutter to adjust the height. I have a second set of ports that I use to hook up my back hoe, but there is no control lever associated with them. In order to use them I have to switch out two hoses at my loader control. By doing this it disconnects the 3pt and provides power to the bh.

BobG, is yours hooked up the same way.

As you are looking at the first picture, the hoe hooks up on the right.

In the second picture you will see a dummy hook up on the outside of the loader frame, or closest to you. It is switched out witht the top hose on the other side of the frame. Further explanation on photo.

Oleozz: Do you use your existing lever, one lever for both sets? How does that work?

It's a little more involved than you would expect to add the second remote, but isn't anything complicated. It takes about 1.5 hours if I recall correctly. It comes with steel tubing, no hoses that I can recall. It's all hard plumbed.

Hmm...I think 3 sets is the max, is it that much more or difficult to install with 3 sets?

Slippy, I purchased my 3rd remote a while ago, doesn't seem like it will be to hard to install,:) just need some time and no wind to do it. I would think that adding 2 more remotes would be just as easy as only adding 1, except for the cost. The 3rd remote if bought at the same time should be slightly less money I would think, since you would be buying only 1 set of replacement hard lines.;)

I called dealer and they told me 3rd remote was not available. Are you putting in after market remote?

Slippy, Mahindra doesn't sell 3rd spool remote kits for the 00 series but on the 20 series they do.

Slippy, actually when it is all said & done I will have 5 rear remotes. I only need 4, but you just never know. I never thought that I would need more than 2 when I bought the tractor.:) So I will end up with 3 factory & 2 after market on the side of the fender.

If you think that you might need 3, maybe you should go ahead and do the after market ones. You could get 2 for less than the price of 1 factory one.;)

Good luck

Will the 20 3rd remote work on the 00?

I don't think so. I think that they are a different style. Take a look at your dealer yourself to make sure. Mine are all, 4 position with detents in all positions. My local dealer never has anything bigger than a 4110, so I can't check it out myself. Sorry that I can't be of more help on this.:(

We installed a 3rd remote on a 7520 today, and it is very different than the 00 series. Nothing wrong with a 3-spool valve on the fender, so that option may be best. Or if you are MtnView, a 10 spool valve on the fender....

10, 10, come on, I'm not that bad am I? You don't think that 5 will be enough for me? Man I'm not sure if I can remember what valve does what now.:D

I think you are at your limit. More valves will require an additional tractor :)

By the way, I took in trade a couple of D2 crawlers today. I seem to think you need one? Also a John Deere D, but I think I will keep it. But I digress...

For those of you installing remotes, just make sure the valves are adequate for the flow, otherwise a lot of unnecessary heat is generated. The 00 series fenders are so strong you could mount about anything on them, plus they are nice a flat. Makes it an easy job.

Too many valves, hoses, and other parts for me. I bought a 6000 because it was simple, no frills or gimics. All this hydraulic stuff makes my head spin. I am fortunate to have a very good mechanic who has fabricated a bracket for my diverter valve from WR Long, and making up the hoses, etc. He is also going to install the 2nd set of remotes for me. For me, I think two will be enough, especially when I got along for years with none, and the last few with one. Keep it simple stupid works for me.

.

I want another tractor baaad, but I bought a Case 1200 Traction King last month and the wife says [That's it, no more.]:( So I suppose that I am going to have to wait for awhile to get a cat 1 tractor.:) 35-40 hp.

Dave I think that you are trying to get your profit from those trade ins quick. One of these days I will finish re-furbishing my Case 310 dozer, so no I don't need a D2. Although that's not to say that I would not like to have one.:D
