Add a diverter?

Has anyone used one of these diverter kits successfully on a Jinma/ Farm pro? I finally have my Spirit loader (similar to Koyker, with a joystick) installed and functional and I壇 like to add a grapple.

The big question I have is the valve, is it a 3-way or 4-way? 3-way valves often don't play well with diverters. A few more questions:

1) Is there a noticeable detent when pushing the valve to the right?
2) Does the valve have 6 or 7 hoses attached?

Here's a link to a thread, where I added a front remote. Still working perfect after 10 yrs. On an open centre system, it wasn't to hard. I basically added a simple single spool valve in line from my loader valve. With this setup you can only use one function at a time, but you only have one hand only. I use it for my plow angling, would work for a grapple . Important to add a cushion valve, in case you hit something . Old video, looks like the link is dead.

The only detent I feel is to lower the bucket- nothing to the side.

Why not just add a power beyond circuit to your joystick and add a DA valve and be done with it?

I would but am totally new to hydraulics. Not afraid to do the work but would prefer some type of “kit” if available. There’s a lot of sometimes confusing info on the web.

Unfortunately, when you buy or own an off-brand piece of equipment there is not much aftermarket support so "kits" for anything are few and far between. But, hydraulics are hydraulics, and most tractors are relatively the same in that respect, so search the existing threads in the Hydraulics forum here on TBN will turn up many threads on adding remotes and 3rd functions, these things are discussed all the time.

It's very likely that one of the flat faced hex plugs on your joystick valve stack is actually a power beyond port, and just a simple adapter installed in place of the plug will allow another circuit to be installed easily. The tricky part is finding a brand and model number of your joystick so the appropriate adapter can be found.

Cross tells me I need a conversion plug and can then tap the byd port with a 3/4 16 SAE-8 fitting.

There ya go! Now all you need is a dual action (DA) valve and some hose and fittings (and of course, your grapple). Surplus Center is a good source for valves and fittings -

You will also need to install a relief valve in the new grapple circuit to prevent damage to the grapple and/or the bucket.

Usually a good NAPA store has fittings and can make up hoses for you.
