Clearly I do a very poor job of expressing myself

"Stay alert" is good "Don't touch" is fine too

The OP question was about children riding in the loader bucket most people including you I believe, thought it not to be a good idea. Then someone stated that children sitting in the bucket with the engine off would be safe enough.

So if I can make this as clear as I can, the only points (2) I was trying to make are:

1 that even that is not totally safe. ( tried to give an example that makes that point.)
2 I would not allow children to sit in a raised loader bucket under any circumstance.

And the point of my second post was that just telling someone "don't touch" wasn't fail safe

Now having said all that, have I ever sat in the loader bucket, Of course it makes a great chair. But then I know not to place my legs anywhere under the thing. I take plenty of (calculated) risks when it's only me involved. But then that's another story.
