B2710
The other day I was moving dirt and everything was running great. In fact the 2710 has been wonderful, and more than I had expected. A problem developed with the cooling sysytem.
I frequently check the gauges, tach, and have never had the temperature gauge go above the 'C'....until I looked down and saw the temp guage was in the red! I shut the tractor down and did a visual, trying to control the shakes....and I noticed the petcock for draining the system was spewing coolant. The dang valve was loose! I let the tractor cool for about 1/2 hour, and added more coolant. The temp went back to normal, and all appears to be fine. So, guess this is a long way around to remind owners to add that little device as an item to check periodically, or daily.

Duckboy, were you working around brush/limbs etc that could have moved the petcock? I'm not familiar with the particulars of a 2710 but such things are usually tucked away. Does the petcock seem loose or broken.

The drain plug is located right above the left front axel, kind of hard to reach by hand, especially difficult to drain the system.
As I was not anywhere near something that could have hit the plug, it must have just vibrated loose. But it seems nice and tight now, and 4 hrs yesterday pulling scotch broom out by the roots with the 4 in 1, didn't seem to repeat the problem, which is good.
