You bet! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Did it when I was in high school on a 112 yard par 3. Used a Pitching Wedge and put it on one bounce! What a thrill!! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
What was funny, though, was back then you could record the hole in one with the PGA Hole-In-One Club of America. But to have it count, you needed to have a witness (one who actually saw the event! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) and you needed to complete the round you were playing.
Well, I was playing after school in the spring, and it was getting dark fast! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif When we got to the 18th, which was a long par 4, I teed off with a 9 iron just so I could see where the ball landed. I think it took me 8 or 9 strokes to get in! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
A few weeks after I had recorded the hole-in-one, I started getting all these offers to have my ball mounted on a plaque, or I was eligible for a raffle from the manufacturer of my kind of golf shoes, etc. But the best one I got was a free steak dinner in Connecticut! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I figured a guy who got a hole-in-one in Connecticut got a free steak dinner in Wisconsin. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Oh yeah. My son, who is 23, has had 3 of them!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
