99 S10 ABS problem

I have a '99 S10 that the ABS comes on at low speed stop.No codes in the ABS system and no idiot lights on dash. The pickup has fairly new front hub/ bearings which come with brake sensors. I changed the top portion of the brake controler and still have the problem.I know its the ABS because when I pull the fuse the problem goes away but Naturally I get an ABS warning light on the dash.Any help would be appreciated

You need to clean off the wheel speed sensors - hopefully not replace them. GM had problems here in the Midwest "salt belt" that led to a recall - but i don't know if that covers New York. It was only a regional recall. I would talk to a Dealer and see what they will do for you. Hope this helps.

we have a 99 suburban that had problems with the abs- failed at low speeds. It was NOT covered under the recall. My mechanic told me he clean the sensors and hopefully it would fix the problem- but he may break them while cleaning- a $60.00 per side job could go to $600.00- and he did not know which side was faulty. I pulled the fuse and drove with out ABS for a while. We had a bearing fail and it ended up to be the culprit. I've had two other trucks ( ford and gm ) that gave ABS failure lights when the bearings went.

I want to thank you guys for the reply.I still can't fix my problem.
Both front sensors are clean,I called the Chevy dealer and they checked with my vin number for a recall. No such luck.I guess I'm going to have to bypass the ABS by removing the fuse.

You might check the speed sensor in the rear differential , if you haven't already
