Have you asked at a rad shop to see how much it would cost to replace the core? I tried Googling the part number but didn't have much success with prices.

Had to suck it up and buy a new one. 414.00 delivered. Ouch!

Was cleaning it off after mowing for several hrs. and noticed an oil leak from the oil cooler. One of the short lines was cracked. Replaced the oil cooler and was checking for leaks and then noticed antifreeze. I pressure washed the radiator so I'm sure that exposed the rotten core. It would have started leaking soon anyway. Btw, there are two small tabs that the oil cooler is bolted to on the radiator. One of mine broke so I would attribute the cracked line to the vibration.
