Well Hillbilly I guess you know more about the front axle than the designers do so I'll just let you know all about that. As far as mistakes go I sure can't see anywhere in any of my posts where I said john deere didn't make mistakes. They are design issues of which they fixed. I never tryed to get you to think that they didn't make mistakes. I gave numerous examples of how everyone has design problems or mistakes as you call them and have to fix them. Not everyone has the same problem though. All I said or meant to say was that this whole idea of the 4000 jd being a terrible and unreliable tractor is simply not true or at least not anymore so than any other tractor. There are a 1000 times more satisfied people for every complaint as well. Go to any discussion board though and 99% of what you hear are the problems not what's good about them. You even state that all of the problems that were wrong with your tractor have been fixed to your satisfaction.

As far as the reliability issue and service record there is a magazine that put out a recent issue that compared 10 different subcompacts and john deere was #1 in least number of service complaints. I do not know where the info. was from but have heard it from other sources as well. I don't have the time to track it down so just consider it unreliable if you will.

It doesn't matter what I say you are mad at deere and you aren't going to listen to anything positive about them and that's ok. Like you said everyone is entitled to their opinion. I happen to believe deere puts out a damn fine product. Enough said from my end.
