Even though they are a different shape I'll keep them for spares and/or use them on some other project some day. I think they are expensive wheels. So I'm curious, even though you have a deck that came with zerks there are no grooves to channel the grease around? The groove might be in the bushing rather than the shaft.
Didn't know they changed the shape of the wheels also. I know when I ordered my tractor, the deck was the holdup in delivery. Everything else was sitting on the dealers lot. He called me and since I was working 800 miles from home at the time, I told him to just wait till the deck arrived before delivering the complete tractor. So I guess I got the most updated deck.
Don't know about the groove in the shaft or bushing. I had it apart once when the shaft was very hard to turn/swivel, and removed some polypropylene twine (this place is loaded with old twine embedded in the ground left over from feeding bales of hay to the former residents) but I didn't think to look for grooves. Will do next time.
Thanks for the tip.
