554 PTO height adjustment

Is there a height adjustment on the automatic PTO setting? When I have the cutter running on auto and raise the cutter only slightly the pto goes off. When on auto have to have the cutter so low that grass builds up in front of the cutter, and makes a big clump grass. I then have to raise the cutter to get rid of it. Then the field is left with big clumps of grass all over. It must be some sort of safety feature, but what does it really do?

Find the little switch on the 3 pt. Right behind the seat. Should have a bit of adjustment left in it.

It should be located very lose to the rockshaft as it uses just a small metal tab to contact the switch.

On my 454 the switch is under the cover for the control leavers.
