Need some input:

O.K. I know that all the 5*03 tractors have the same engine. Both the 5103 and 5203 are naturally aspirated while the 5303 is turbocharged. Obviously, the difference in HP between the 5103 and 5303 can be attributed to the turbocharger. How do they get the higher HP of the 5203 from the same engine when it isn't turbocharged?

Is it that the engine in the 5203 is "wound a little tighter"? Please fill me in.

My guess would be the compression ratio, but I really don't know.

Fuel pump setting (Fuel map in the pump) only. Same RPM's, etc. on all three engines. Just the pump/nozzles.

Thanks Cowboydoc. I just spent 26 years eating, sleeping, and drinking JD tractors (especially the 5000 series). I still teach dealers all over the world for them. From the other posts, I see that you know a bit about them as well. You have a good site here. Thanks for the comment...you surprised me that you did your homework. Good job!
