Comparison 5101E VS 6100D vs 5095m

I have looked at the Case-IH Farmall 95 and was very pleased. I wish it had the wet clutch with clutchless shifting rather than the dry clutch with mechanical shuttle.
The JD Limited series is priced pretty close to the Case-IH

There are no McCormick dealers in my area so that would be a deal breaker.

I finally have some prices. My dealer priced out a 5095M and a 5093E Limited. The M is priced with the remote E-hitch and air seat. Other than that they are similarly equiped (obviously the M has more bells and whistles). The M was $52,300 and the E Limited was $41,500. Add a 553 Loader for $5800.

After much discussion, I am probably leaning toward the E Limited. The only option that I would like to have on the E Limited but it's not available is the remote E-hitch. My concern about the M is all those electronics and I can just picture a mouse eating thru one of the wires causing havoc.

I also have some reservations about the 553 loader.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I think this is pretty good. A year ago my dealer quoted me $42K for the 5083E With the self leveling loader. I was about to go for it but ended up with a used TN75DA which is enough power for me since I don't round bale. I thought the 5083E was an excellent tractor and was more than competitive price wise. I think it has the Hp to do what you want to do.

I don't know about the rest of you, but i hate cutting and baling on an open tractor. Especially late in the season, I just hate being covered in grass hoppers.

I have tended to try to avoid a lot of electronics because if they fail you are down and I worry about them 10 years from now when the tractor is out of production for more than a few years.

Wet clutch all the way on bigger tractors. They last so much longer. I like the power shuttle quite a bit. I still use the clutch up close to things. The 32/16 transmissions are nice although the shifting is not that smooth I don't think. Still, it's easier to shift when you are going up a hill pulling a mower or baler and need a little more torque. It wasn't worth the price differential to me at the time though.

First I think the price is reasonable on the 5093E Limited and think it will work for you in most cases. For the price it may well be the best deal for you.

When I consider long term ownership with a single tractor to handle all the hay operations and tillage when needed I would still recommend the 6115 with a 673 loader. Better for tillage and better to move the bales in inclement weather, more money for sure but day in and day out a good choice for a 100 acre farm.

My dealer quoted me a few months ago a ballpark $43-44K for a 5083E with a FEL if I remember correctly. This included a few other extras that they order when stocking a tractor. Front brush guard, etc...

One thing to consider, yes the 6000 is heavier duty, but extra weight is a bad thing if you need to get on a field quickly after it rains. I would like the lighter machine to avoid rutting up my fields. You don't need a bunch of weight to round bale hay. You need at least 85hp. Plowing is another beast. You can always fill the FEL bucket and use 4WD if you need more weight to pull a ground engagement implement. Just make sure your front tires are properly aired up....Don't ask how I know.

I love my 5083e and am glad I went with the 563 over 553 FEL. My only regret is not having the tire size found on the 5093 and 5101. My rational was that new tires will come in time and I can always turn up the pump to get the hp found in the 5101. A year ago I paid 42k for the package with 0% for 36 months.
Also, the global fel quick attach is great with the heavy duty bucket and bolt on cutting edge.

I now have 11.2-24 and 16.9-30 and want 12.4-24 and 18.4-30. I am looking at the goodyear dyna torque.

I was finally able to find a 5095M and a 5093E Limited at a dealer so that I could compare the two tractors side by side. After spending some time comparing the two tractors I am of the opinion that the extra money for the M series is well worth the difference. The M has a much heavier 3pt hitch/rear end and accounts for the 1000lbs extra weight. The engine puts out a bit more horse power and the cab, especially the air seat, is much nicer.
At this point, the M is a bit out of my price range, but I intend to save my pennies and get the tractor that I want.

Also Deere has pulled their 0% for 60 months financing down to 48 months.

I have the tires you want on my 5085M. I want 16.9R26's on the front instead of 12.4R24... And maybe 20.8R34 on the front instead of 18.4R30.. Then it will look like a monster:licking:

I really wanted the M, but could not justify the price cause then I thought for that kind of money I could buy the 6330, but thats too big of tractor for my application. Now I go back and look at the M and kick myself, and if I remember right it was about 18k more. How do you like it?

Not a really big fan of the 16/16 Reverser Gearbox. I'd be more pleased if they offered a 16/16 PowrQuad. I got my open station 5085M for 39,000. A little powerhop front is a bit light. I have no loader no nothing on this tractor its bone dead low options. It has a deluxe canopy ill dig for a photo.

Opss! Silly me I was just joking :laughing: If the tires would fit I would totally option them for my tractor. 20.8R34's Rears, 16.9R26's Fronts . No, the air filter is the same tube type they've been using forever. Your tractor definitely has a lot more iron to it. I got a cab and loader for just a hair over what you paid, but you always get what you pay for.
