I thought that the 5M series went back to 2008 and were pre-emission tractors.

It is my understanding that 5m’s started then and then emissions were added around 2014 but that’s based on quick searching.

Sounds about right. I have pre-emissions equipment and now a new emissions diesel that uses the exhaust fluid. Never have had one with the DPF, but the exhaust fluid type of emission control seems to be painless. It sure does work well. Very clean engine.

Yes, the first generation of 5Ms were pre-Tier 4 units as they were introduced before Tier 4 emissions were mandated. The ones made since 2014 are Final Tier 4.
