Getting ready to do my 50hr. service. Curious on what weight and brand oil others are using. Thanks.

Stick with the weight recommended by LS for your temp zone. As to brand and dino vs syn the debate goes on.
My preference is for Shell Rotella T6. For hyd. I use Kubota's SUDT2.

I'm using RotellaT 15W-40 engine oil and Kubota UDT hydraulic oil --------

I use RotellaT 15-40 engine oil and Travelers Premium Hyd Oil, both available at TSC and use all NAPA filters. If you change the main Hyd filter without changing the Hyd oil be ready with the new filter very quickly because the oil will just keep pouring out until you can get the new filter on!!!! I made the mistake of waiting for the flow of oil to slow down.......bad idea, the oil kept coming and before I got the new filter on I lost 2-3 gallons and had a big mess.

Make sure you read the LS oil & filter thread. :).

Yes, I read through everything last night. I run RotellaT in my truck so I'll probably use it. Didn't know if someone had better results with one or another. Thanks.

Someone has posted about parking on a side hill so that the hydro filter is uphill and it greatly reduced the amount of fluid lost. Seems like a good idea if you have a place to do it.

I went with Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic engine oil on my 50 hr. and Shield brand universal tractor hyd. fluid from AdvanceAuto to top off the fluid lost changing the filter. I used factory LS filters. Went with the 5W-40 and Shield because they are designed for colder temps.

On my Kubota I had the wife hold a shop vac at the fill port while I changed hydro filter and didn't lose a drop. The suction creates a vacuum they prevents the fluid escaping.

Did any XR4046 owners confirm if the NAPA 1056 oil filter was the correct one?

These filters were confirmed by NVMYHD for the XR4046 in the filter thread post #123.
I used factory filters when I did mine and probably will at least till I'm out of warranty.
