Your welcome.
I'm looking at the NX 4510 and the NX5010. Main uses will be loader, boxblade, and backhoe work. My property is hilly with 90 percent woods. The only time that I would use the PTO would be for tilling and occasional mowing at my brothers property.
I'm just debating if 5hp is worth the extra money.
Bubba43, I've had my NX410HST cab for almost six years (and love it), so will offer my thoughts on this. As you probably know, the NX4510HST and NX5010HST are identical tractors, with the only difference being the ECU tuning for fuel delivery by the common rail injection system. So, you are correct to ask if the 5 hp increase, alone, is worth the additional $1,600.
For more stability on your hilly property, I'm assuming you'll go with R3 or R4 tires for their greater width, and also have the rears filled. With respect to FEL and backhoe performance, I don't think there would be any difference at all between the two models. Ditto when using a grapple on your FEL, as you'll likely want one if 90 percent of your property is woods.
Your third main use, grading with a box blade, is a different story, IMO, and the hilly conditions that you have change the analysis for me. With a fully loaded box blade, and even more so with your scarifiers down, an increase of 5 hp would allow you to work a little bit faster. It would also be noticeable climbing hills in medium range, with or without the box blade.
Unless the $1,600 up-charge would be really painful for you right now, I think I'd opt for the NX5010HST. You'd never regret having the additional hp available, and after a few months the pain of the upcharge will likely be a faint memory.
I think you will be happy with your choice. I don't know any dealers in your area but, if you like your local dealer, you might ask how long it would take if he orders what you want. At any rate, post pictures when you get it home!
Torque ft lbs = HP x 5252/RPM so 5 x 5252 = 26260/2300 = 11.42 ft lbs rounded to hundreds place.
My local dealer is 10 miles from my house. They have always been good at getting parts for my CK 30 in a timely matter. I spoke with the owners son on Thursday and he me told that they have some on order, but that they wont be in for a couple of months.
I really need to sit on one and get a good grasp on the size difference. I'm a little concerned about using it in my woods due to the larger size. My little 30 has done everything that I've asked of it, but does struggle at times. Especially when pulling logs up the hills out of the woods. The bigger tractor will do this more easily and I can pull the whole tree at one time compared to making three trips.
I dont believe that formula works for diesel, only gas. Diesels are low RPM high torque engines.
Dealer...Dealer...Dealer
I have bought many cars in my lifetime. I can recall only one time needing the dealer...Peugeot diesel (POS)
I have three tractors all bought used.
None has ever been to a dealer.
Any necessary parts come by UPS from Messick's...450 miles away.
I have an equipment trailer, and everyone with a tractor SHOULD have a trailer.
A dealer to me is as worthless as **** on a boar pig!
