4wd Framtrac 555

I have a Farmtrac 555 DTC 4wd (2007)The problem is it will not go into 4wd. I was told it was because of a spring in the gearbox that engages the 4wd. Does anybody know about this and how hard is to repair? Also whenever I turn my tractor it doesn't matter which way I turn the back wheel tears up the ground.

Sounds like u have a diff lock. Not sure if it being engaged would prevent you from using 4 wheel drive but it definitely will tear up ground during turns. Check your manual or look for a small pedal rear of yor left foot.
