4707

11 hours on it so far. Seems to be a high quality machine. Handsome tractor too. Cab is spacious. Tilt and telescopic steering column is nice. Still think they could do a little better job on designing nooks and crannies for storage inside the cab, although I do realize this is a little nit-picky. Cell phone holder would be nice. Guess I'll have to get one from another source.

Not sure how the 900x loaders are, but this FL3615 is very smooth. It is very similar in smoothness to our CAT 262 skid steer, which is saying something.

Still aren't used to the 3pt hitch arm controls. I like simplicity and this seems to be too complicated to use. Guess there's a learning curve.

Love this tractor so far. Absolutely love it. Massey hit a home run with the 4700 series (especially the 4707). My local dealer has three or four on his lot right now. They are selling them almost as fast as they can get them.
Use this product for your cell phone. Works great.

That looks like a viable solution for the cell phone, thanks for the tip

I just bought an Amazon suction cup style phone mount and stuck it on the rh door and it works great

The hundred series tractors (6xx & 8xx) that came after the NAA did have the options of power steering and the x60 (1955-1957), x61 (1958-1962) of each series had live PTO's and the x71 of each series had the Select-O-Matic transmission which is the ONLY transmission available on these tractors capable of being used with a tiller. The other main difference between them was the 6xx had 34 hp and a slightly less hefty differential vs the 8xx with 42 hp and more beefy diff.

After the hundred series came the thousand series, (2000 & 4000) for two years (1963 & 1964) they were the same tractor as the hundred series tractors on the hood design was different. In 1965 the 2xxx & 4xxx were still available but were completely different tractor along with the new 3xxx series, it was when Ford changed to a 3 cylinder engine in the utility line of tractors of this size.

SteelMastiff, didn't mean to hog up your thread.
this tractor seemed to me to be the most I could buy from a top tier tractor company
with all the bells and whistles I wanted for 50 grand.

If I had a LS dealer close by, who knows.
They are easily twenty percent less from my observations.
And the New Holland dealer might have been just fine.

hope the discussion helps to answer your question.

Anyone with a Visio roof have any thoughts? How is the heat in the summer? Do you think it is worth the upgrade?

My dealer has a 4707 in stock without the Visio roof and I am trying to figure out how long the wait will be if I want one with that option.
A local dealer has LS tractors. I looked at their 73hp model (basically an apples-to-apples comparison with the 4707). It was $19k cheaper than the Massey. Even so, hard pass. The Massey seems to be better in every way (weight, fit and finish, aesthetics, cab design, materials quality (plastic), loader performance and pretty much everything else).

Also, I originally didn't want the Visio roof, but the tractor came with it and now I'm glad to have it.

Some other observations about the 4707:

1. Man, do these tires rip apart the ground they tread on. Wow. Especially grass/lawn.

2. The heat and A/C work really, really well.

3. The cab is surprisingly quiet.

4. The amount of features this tractor has compared to equivalent models in other colors is astounding.

5. Even with wheel weights, it could use more weight back there. I run a trailer hitch on the 3pt almost all the time. It has both gooseneck and regular hitch balls for moving trailers in the yard and on the farm. I'm considering mounting some weights on the hitch infrastructure to add some weight behind the rear axle, even it it's 100lbs worth. It should help.

6. One thing that would be a welcome addition is an automotive style sun visor that can be swung around to the side. I've done some work where the sun was on the left of the tractor and there was no way to keep it from blinding me other than putting my hand up.

7. The air ride seat is worth the money.

What do the wheel weights do when moving trailers?

Yup, those ag tires are non forgiving on the grass. The 4700 series is one nice tractor.

I left my 7 foot rototiller on the back most of the time, worked as a great counterweight. Mowers stick out too far, a flail would
also make a great weight on the back. I never lifted a rear wheel with mine, versus previous Kubota which needed as much weight as possible on
the rear. Mine came with 34's instead of 30's, those rear radial tires had some seriously deep tread. And I had them filled. Tractor had more grip than it needed; made
it very interesting proposition to boost engine up to 100hp since the tractor itself could sure handle it.
