Backhoe 448 Backhoe installation/removal

I am about to purchase a 4520 or 4720 tractor with the 448 backhoe and have been told it is a quick removal/install process and then by another a good 3-4 hour task.

I was just curious about user feedback and also info on the RSA removal/install feature discussed in the literature.

I can take mine off in about 3 minutes, It takes another 5-7 to reinstall the 3 point hitch arms( there a little tricky, You have to turn them sidways to get them on the mounts on the 4X20 series). To remove the 3 point hitch arms is about 3-4 minutes and about another 4-5 minutes to reinstall the backhoe (Thats going easy and not braking a sweat)The trick for me is to use the backhoe controls to remove and install the 448. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'll back what RRacing says about removal and installation time.

3-4 hours? did somebody really tell you this? If so, they are doing something wrong.

I am glad to hear that.

Actually, it was the local dealer. He said it would take a half to full day for me to remove backhoe and a lot of work to use other implements.

Better, to buy the 4000 series without a backhoe and get all the implements I need and then get a smaller 3000 series with backhoe and just leave it on permanently.

So instead of one tractor to use for all, get 2 tractors. I thought something sounded odd from all the literature I had read.

Well you can guess which dealership did not get my business. I went to another dealer recommended on this thread and got almost $2,000 off the previous quote.
