4310 wiring

Has anyone noticed in the wiring harness around the rockshaft there are some wires that are not connected. One is a purple plug to male prongs and another is a crimp on connector. Is this for the implement lights the talk of in the manual?

The recent JD units I have seen use "purple" as the auxiliary lamp circuit...

Should I be concerned there is no cap or any protective device on these prongs? What aux lamps could I run with this connection?. I've heard it is for some kind of implement light.

Most of those circuits are on a 20 amp feed... that is "switchable" with your main dash switch...

Yes, rear work lamps, aux. front lamps, etc. - anything you want to supply 12 vdc. to while the switch is in that position can plug into this pigtail...
