Ran fine the other day. Today it started, ran a minute, coughed smoke then died. Has about 200 hrs. on it, to my knowledge no maintenance has been done.
Doing a search I find the 10 series does not use a thermistor, after pulling my fuse block I agree. I could not find one. Solenoid clicks when the key is turned on. Fuel filter? Thanks, Dennis

Always do the least invasive things first...and that would be the fuel filter...actually, if you have your manual, look for the water separator first. But you may as well buy the fuel filter too.
I have a 4400...quite a bit less electronics then your 4310, but I'm pretty sure (from TBN threads) that you do have a thermistor.
Since it's dark now, and you're on TBN...might as well do a TBN search for "4310 Starting Problems" and variations of that query.
