422 won\'t start
I had a problem starting the PT422 this morning. I sent an email to PT however I began troubleshooting with Captain Obvious after reading a few post here in the forum.
Past history - when i first received the 422 i posted some messages about the engine stalling when bush hogging.
The problem mysteriously went away.
Lately however i have been noticing the unit not having much power when mowing uphill. Even up slight grades.
Present problem- motor would turn over but not start-
I checked for spark in spark plugs and all was well.
I removed heat sheild to check fuel filter and there was a small amount of debris but not too much.
I traced the fuel line back from the fuel pump (i think that's what it is?) to the bottom of the gas tank. That is where i noticed that the gas line had been routed directly between two stiff hydraulic lines. The line had completely squeeze the fuel line together.
After recharging the drained battery from all the startup attempts the unit fired right up and runs swell!
