hi all--am in the process of buying either a 4115 or 4210--i have 15 acres i mow with a older 72" mower deck-i have an excisting 755 with a loader and backhoe and want a tractor with a little more power just for mowing --there is only $1000.00 diff in price so price is not an issue but i don't want anything to big to mow -my neighbor has a 4310 and it is quite big --another thing my son broght up can i put a backhoe on a 4115 if i ever want to do it--just for flexiblity--also want hydro trans
i mow a lot and want something that has cruise control and is comfortable

any thoughts pls

Both can take a backhoe. You can get a synch-shift or hydro in the 4210, and the 4115 is hydro only.

Are you thinking of a belly mower or rear finish mower? The mid-pto is standard on the 4115 and an option on the 4210 if that matters. Both can handle a 72" MMM or RFM. Obviously more HP in the 4210...smaller frame and more agile in the 4115. IMHO, the 4115 is a great finish mowing machine becasue of the shorter wheel base.

I think the 4210 is underpowered for it's size and the 4115 is a better balanced machine overall and IMHO the 4115 would be a better mower. It's also a Yanmar machine whereas the 4210 is not. You could also buy a used 3910 or 3930 for a whole lots less money and it would outmow either the 4115 or 4210.

Actually there is a running change on the 4210 to a larger hydro pump which will give significantly improved numbers.

this has been discussed a lot, but the 4010-4115 are made 100 % percent
by Yanmar and then assembled in the U.S. The 4210 is made and assembled
in the U.S. minus the engine, which is obviously a Yanmar. Obviously,
JD buys parts from the sources all over the world, but for the sake
of simplicity, the above is true to the best of my knowledge.

That's my point. The 4115 will have better build and component quality. It's 100% Yanmar.

thanks all for the info --i will be using a rear 72" mower and i mow about 15 acres-i do it now with a 755 JD but need more power --great point about the added weight of the 4210 with only 2 HP more

LOL. Might be true! Never had a probelm with Yanmar until ye ole 990 started to leak a little. I really got to drive it into work someday.
