3PH / Backhoe hose loop bothers me.

Getting close! I got the correct valve & T fittings and I'm now waiting for these specialized couplers with female JIC's that I ordered. (fingers tapping)

Then when they come in, I'll take off the hoses to get them cut/fitted with the customized ends, make a simple bracket, and slap it all together.

All the parts came it today and they are exactly what I hoped except for the Stucchi flat faced couplers which was a little bigger than I expected but not a problem.

I went and got new hoses made, which had to be measured carefully and the orientation of the end fittings is very important because you can't just twist the hoses. All the ends have 90° JIC ends.

I made the bracket and the paint is drying at this point but I was able to dry-fit everything. The pics shows the female coupler on the right, male on the left. I switched sides (after the pics were taken) to give more clearance of the TnT which clears the couplers. Late tomorrow, it will be complete & reassembled with final pics. In the meantime, check out the progress.

I decided to use the valve handle as a "key" and store it in my tool box to prevent accidental switching.





This shows the position of the TnT cylinder at the highest position. Absolutely no obstruction at all. Better than I envisioned.


With the BH hoses connected, it still allows ample slack even with the tractor loop removed. MUCH better!



It was a fun project thanks to ALL who contributed suggestions & ideas, it wouldn't have reached this level of quality without you guys and I truly appreciate it!

For those who want to go this route what was the final cost to do this? Looks nice.

The valve was $32.40, the custom hoses about $75 (you could probably go cheaper), 2 "T" fittings are $15 ea. The flat faced couplers were $170 for two pairs of couplers. A little over $300 for this setup. Worth every penny to me. The couplers had a nice benefit of having very little fluid loss when decoupling and easy to wipe clean. Also, it has an accidental release protection built in. To release, the collar has to line up with the indentation on the backside.

The major factor was the lack of a particular T fitting that I was looking for but didn't exist. The one I got has #10 JIC on each end and a #8 ORB on the side port that connects to the valve. If they'd make one end a NPT, the overall cost would have plummeted to approx $140 since I'd be able to reuse the couplers. It's important to know that the JIC & ORB allows fixed mounting position whereas the NPT doesn't. This wouldn't matter on the coupler ends. I could use adapters but this would have made the assembly too wide and I wanted it tight between the 3PH arms.
