I'm doing some research/planning for this 3910 I've just bought, before I tear it down to fix leaks, clutch etc. The pump I have is in the rear casing, below flow valve. I presume this is the 7.7gpm pump? Tractor Data says there is an optional 12.8gpm pump which I presume is the one that mounts on the left of engine? These engine mount ones are available for around $340 but ... how do they work? Do they work in tandem with the rear pump or are they used independently for a loader etc? How are they plumbed in? I have scoured the internet looking for info but no mention of it anywhere. There's videos on youtube about both types of pumps but nothing about retrofitting one. Anyone with any knowledge of this here? Any info or links greatly appreciated.

I guess it's been done before, but would most likely require pretty thorough knowledge of the system to start with. I've personally never done it. There are probably more three cylinder tractors out there with the single pump (like yours) than with both. You would first need to remove the cover on the engine block to confirm the drive gear on the back of the camshaft is actually present. Without that the project takes on another dimension. Then you would need to locate and acquire just about everything on the page below. Some salvage yard scouting would be in order.

Thanks, yes I wondered about the drive gear. Didn't have time to dig into it today, need to finish a woodworking project so I can get it in the shop once the FEL is removed, lots of things to do to it! Thanks for the link.

If anyone has the tandem pump on their tractor, could you post a photo of where the lines go to? I have a feeling, from what I've read, that the pressure line has to go to the deluxe rear remotes valve block behind the seat rather than the standard, under seat, priority valve. Is this so? If that the case, the project is dead in the water.

The line from the front pump goes to the priority/unload valve as this is the way the system combines the flow for the deluxe remotes.

I don't have the 'deluxe' remotes, just a set coming from this valve. Am I just chasing my tail or is there a way to combine a front pump?
