GeorgeC & Others - Well I think you guys might have applied enough pressure on JD manufacturing to put the 3720 builds ahead of my BH. It was due in tomorrow to go with the tractor and FEL that is already waiting at the dealership.... but I got word today that it is now moved to a July delivery. I'm amazed that JD apparently has so many orders that they're pushing back on delivery dates. It smells of poor market projection or slower than expected builds for new product lines. Okay which one of you had the clout to get your order moved up in the queue ahead of my BH?

The third possibility could be more demand and sales than expected. This is turning out to be a very popular tractor, it appears.

My Theory is that they have to first ship it to China to have it inspected.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

At any rate my wait has finally ended. It took 2 months but my 3720 is in and will be delivered Friday.

I hope you others don't have to wait so long... and Thanks to TBN for making the time go by quicker.

My MMM should arrive tomorrow. If all goes well, I'll be all smiles this weekend.

Cancel the order, buy a New Holland or Case IH Tractor:) I researched these tractors and found out alot about the 3720 which changed my mind in addition to inventory issues getting one.
- First off, the comparative model TC40 or DX40 has more engine displacement 121 versus 91 of the JD.
- More Hydraulic flow 9.8 vs. 8.6 of the JD
- 2330 3pt lift capacity vs. 2200 of the JD
- Deluxe 3 pt is standard, optional on all JD's. Nice stuff that includes the flex link ends, telescoping stabilizers, and crankstyle adjustment, sway drawbar--- all of which you pay extra for on the JD.
- Operator platform is fully deluxe, swivel seat, high back seat, 12volt power socket, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, color coded and embossed controls, etc. JD only has tilt.
- Construction - proof is in the pudding. Compare the axles and construction - JD is lightweight. The NH and CIH 40 weigh
3220 versus 2900lbs of the JD.
- Lastly the hood, the JD has tried to copy the NH and CIH but the hood is as I said scary, open it and put it on the flimsy prop rod and it rests right on the muffler. The NH and CIH 40 have two gas struts, metal interior frame, four headlights, take a look. .
Also take a look at radiators, the NH and CIH have a flow thru radiator versus the screened plastic deal JD is using. Flow thru is just like your car.
Loader visibility even after JD copied the NH design is very poor on the JD tractor, this is because the seat is on a flat plane on the JD tractor versus the inclined plane of the NH tractor. Also take a look at loader construction. Small torque tube, less lift capacity, 4 bolt mount versus 10, a 2500 loAgain much more money going into the NH and CIH design.
Lastly the price will be less on these units versus the JD.

That green paint has been cost reduced to the tee!!

Nope. Green is the only color for me..
JD has unmatched resale value..

I know one thing, my 4300 has been flawless.
I've owned it for almost 5 years, and sold it for $2,500 less than what I paid for it.
Besides, my wife likes green also!

JT, your profile doesn't show your tractor type - what did you wind up getting when you were looking?

JD, I ended up buying the NH TC40DA. It was less money than the JD3720 and it appeared to be built much better. I truly believe JD has cost reduced the heck out of the new 20 series tractors for all of the reasons I listed above and then some. Just open the hoods of the two tractors and you will see what I am talking about. If they cost reduced that portion of the tractor, have to wonder what else they took shortcuts on.

Good luck!

That's impressive. Pretty close to the date they gave you, June 13.
Take good care of it and make it a looooong time before you give it it's first 'ouch'! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Probably not 'if', but 'when'. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The dealer said the deck should be arriving on Thursday when he gets his truckload.
Hopefully, I'll have some good news soon.

Where's McCloskey (aka Rockyridge?) I can only imagine his envy. Suffice it to say, he's green with envy when he see's this! Have fun with the very refined looking green machine with the yellow seat!!! Very nice and about time!
