It is the JD toothbar. The list is $350.00 but I am not sure what the end price was due to the combo deal and I traded a tractor in on it. My guess is that it was $290 to $300. The toothbar works great for loosening a pile of compacted material but you can't just go into the bottom of a pile of compacted soil and just raise it due to the added weight of what is on top of the toothbar. My Allis Chalmers 450 loader did not have a toothbar and it seemed to get a full bucket quicker than the 300CX but I just may need experience with the toothbar. The JD loader hydraulics are 20 times faster than the old AC though.

Thanks for the info. I see you got the larger R4's too. I had the dealer change all 4 wheels to there widest setting on mine. You only gain about 2 inches on rear -- but about 6+ on front. My front tires have a track about 1 inch wider than the rear now -- a little goofy, but I wanted to be as wide as I could be under the loader for stability up front.

beenthere - this was an 'ouch' yesterday afternoon. Got her stuck so bad that the right front tire was completely buried. My 'amatuer' abilities could not get her out but an equipment operator friend of mine got her out in about 20 minutes but it did take some work, chain and trees. As beefy as the 448 hoe is I would expect more power from it and my friend thought the same also. JD probably turns the hydraulic power down so things don't get broke I imagine. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
