3720 MFWD question

Good morning,

I recently purchased a 3720 with about 375 hours on it. I have noticed that when I first start the unit, if I engage 4WD, the dash light for 4WD may flicker but generally doesn't come on. As I use the machine in 4WD the light will come on and off more frequently and then (after 15 minutes or so of use) will come on and stay on. The machine appears to be functioning properly in 4WD during this time. After this time, if I am in 2WD the lot will come off and if I am in 4WD it will come on normally.

If I operate the tractor for 15 or 20 minutes in 2WD and then engage 4WD, the 4WD functions fine and the light comes on and stays on normally.

All other aspects of the tractor are functioning well. Has anybody else encountered this? All hydraulic fluid levels, etc are fine. I have ordered the technical service manual but it has not arrived yet.

I don't have a cab--the shift for my 3520 is mechanical. I can feel it engage and disengage under more or less tension, depending on the situation when I use it. (I don't unless it's needed)
Do you feel it shift solidly? It may be an idiot light issue more than a function issue... I have not heard of it.

Thank you - I'm sorry I didn't specify it's an e-hydro model (I believe all 3720 cabs are). The lever does feel solid when I engage it. At first I thought it was just a light issue but am puzzled by how it consistently works right after the unit has run for about 15 minutes, no matter what the mode. This seemed to argue against a lose wire.
