The dealer is coming in the morning to pick up the tractor and bring it back to the dealership.They plan on doing a full dianostic check on entire tractor.They had a new tubo overnighted from JD and plan on installing tommorow.They also said if there is a damage beyond just the turbo they are going to order me a new tractor from the factory.I think they have handled this very well and am glad i picked them for my purchase. The owner,salesman and service manager have all been great to deal with and have kept me well informed to date.I will update when this issue has concluded.As for the earlier poster who said if it happened before i got it i would never know the thing is i do know and thats a big difference.You buy a brand new tractor and you want it problem free.
just got off the phone with dealer.He said a john deere service tech was sent there to check the tractor.They want to know why the turbo failed.The tech is going to do a full diagnostic on tractor and if there is any damage other than the turbo the factory is going to replace the tractor with a nw one.I will find out monday whats going on after the tech is finished with the testing.
Update>Dealer called today and the service mgr and jd tech took engine apart .They saw some limited damage to engine and they got the ok from JD to install a brand new engine and turbo.The engine is coming off the assembly line at factory in georgia tommorow morning and will be over nighted to the dealer.He expects to have it installed and tractor returned to me on friday.I have to say the dealer has been great throughout this and there service and communication is excellent.After i have the tractor i will report how everything went.

Glad your getting a new engine.
Since you will be paying a lot of money for your tractor, i believe i would tell them to give you a new tractor.
A new tractor was an option but 6-8 weeks for them to order it and have it shipped and setup etc.I didnt want to wait that long with the snow season and having sold my other tractor already.The engine is the only thing wrong and the rest of the tractor is fine and has all the extras on it i ordered already installed.I really didnt see the point of a new tractor when they are installing a completely new engine and turbo.I ll have the tractor back to me in one week from when they picked it up to having it back good as new.
The tractor is finished with new engine installed. The engine was a complete unit from flywheel hoses filters etc.The dealer was even surprised he thought it was just going to be engine,They said a complete engine would be sent and it sure was.It was overnighted tuesday and arrived late wed.
They installed it thursday and friday and today they where checking out the whole tractor to make sure everything was working fine.The service manager personally took the lead on this project and did all the work with JD tech.I have to say they did a great job taking care of this problem with the service manager going all the way to JD corporate and insisting they need a new engine and anything less the customer would not accept.
I will have the tractor back monday and report my findings .
