My 345 blows a fuse as soon as the key is turned. I've checked for a dead short with no luck. I'm thinking ignition module, but dont want to spend the bucks and be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks.

:welcome:

To check for a short, make up a test bulb with leads that let you plug the light in where the fuse is at. A direct short will cause the bulb to be lit. Then you can search for the short by moving wires and lifting contacts. It saves on a lot of grief and going through fuses.
Getting a service manual with the wiring diagram will be worth it if you are trying to fix this yourself.

Sound like ignition module. My JD 325 was doing some crazy things and I replaced the ignition module and it starts and runs a lot better. I got it off ebay, someone had order the wrong one and it was $50 as he resold it. I believe another seller has them for $77 new, but check and make sure which one you need. It takes bout 30 minutes piddling around to put it on.

Ok, now what? As suggested i used a test light and it worked correctly, so i put in a fuse and. It didnt blow, but now i have a hammering sound when i try to start it. Starter or selenoid maybe?
