Mowing 32 acres with a 4' mower

Precisely. What was Pre Revolutionary Boston is now largely in the financial/business district but the roads had been pretty well established by the time anyone got around to city planning so we are stuck with the odd ball street layout.

Assuming the 32 acre guy with 4 ft mower is driving at 3 mph and cutting 3.5ft wide per pass, he can mow 924 sq ft at most per minute.
Therefore he will need at the minimum 1508 minutes (25 hrs) to mow 32 acres. Double that to allow for problems and the number is 50 hours.
Of course he will need to mow it once a week!

ragkar, 3MPH might be a tad conservative but of course the faster you go the more overlap you need to aim for to avoid "holidays." Anyway you look at it you'd have to be crazy in love for boring repetition to do that very often. I like playing on the tractor but mowing and spraying and other simple repetitive tasks are not my favorites.
