3038e Finally Arrived

Well after a month wait, my new tractor finally arrived. I put a couple hours on it this evening just messing around. I really like it so far. I intend to use it landscaping my property, tilling my garden, some mowing, & snow removal.

Here are some of my preliminary observations:

Positives:
1. Operator's station is nice & open & comfortable.
2. Loader joystick is conveniently located & very functional
3. Loader hydraulics are much quicker than I expected
4. 3 Point is smooth, easy, & exact.
5. 3 Point lifted my 8 Ft JD springtooth with ease
6. The engine was quieter than I expected. The 3032 that I saw at the dealer seemed rather loud.
7. The hydro was a nice change from my Ford tractor's 5 speed & clutch


Negatives:
1. I wish it had a tilt steering wheel
2. Fuel tank is only 6.5 gal. (seems a little small)
3. Not particularly easy to get to the oil dipstick & filler.
4. Quite a bit of plastic - fenders, hood, etc.
5. Individual brakes would be nice


Verdict: A LOT of tractor for the money. Even though I've noted some negatives, this tractor is hard to beat. It's 37+ HP with loader & hydro for around $17k. Plus numerous local dealers & attractive financing. I expect it will serve my needs very well.

Looks like a great, no BS tractor.

RE: plastic fenders - one thing I like about plastic/fiberglass is that it won't rust.

Looks like a nice tractor....especially for the money. I like the looks of the loader.

Also....if you want to get rid of that 801 Ford in the background....give me a call.

Congrats TP!!! Hope you like yours as good as I like mine.

I just finished mowing the 35 acre hayfield a few minutes ago and all's well. Mine now has 38 hours on it so I picked up oil and an oil filter this morning at the JD dealer so I can change it at 50hrs.

That's a Z445 EZTrac & I love it. It's built to do one thing very well - MOW. If you have a sizeable area to mow & want it done quickly, a ZTR is the only choice. I'm mowing about three acres of yard with it in two hours.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered a 445 with the HC (high capacity) deck. I sold my 62D MMM deck with my last tractor because I wanted a dedicated mowing machine and I found that my grass wasn't getting mowed because I never wanted to switch back and forth with the back hoe which was a real pain. I see these things screaming through the fields here.
I got the 445 over other machines because I wanted the Kawasaki motor. How is it on gas?
