3 rd function for L3240

I helped a friend of my install rear remotes on a L3400, 3 rd function was very easy, rear remotes required a little fabricating due to 3 rd party parts, I want to do the same with my L3240 with oem parts rear remote seem like a simple job, but a 3 rd function looks like more werk on a L3240 the PB is all steel tubing from the tranny to the quick connect, anyone know the details for installation or where I can down a PDF?

Take a look in the hydraulics sub-forum and run a search there. There are many ways to skin this cat, and the question is what are your needs and what would you like to do? I've done it with a diverter on the loader controls on 2 tractors. Some use the rear remotes for the 3rd function. Others use a true 3rd function where there is an electric valve actuating another circuit that is independent of the main loader controls (the Kubota OEM method). Lots of ways to do this - all depends on your skills, and what you want.

I think I have it for the L4240.I remember you have to pull the rear wheel....not an easy task by itself.

I have a 5740 with the Kubota OEM 3rd function. Before that I had a 5030 with the W.R. Long 3rd function.

With that experience in view, I would have opted for the Long system over the OEM. The Long product was perfect out of the box. The OEM was problematic and required a lot of adjustment, and the carbuncle box sitting outboard and beneath the starboard door is ripe for damage.

You could cut a section out of the tubing and use compression fittings to install the 3ed function valve.

You don't have to pay $600 to $800 for a 3ed function kit.

I got a installation PDF for the PB 3 rd function n I'm not crazy about having to drain my hydraulic oil that I just rescently changed n replacing steel tubing, so I'm going with a diverter 3rd function, moving all 3 functions at one time is not as important, I rather be able to feather the 3rd function, will do the rear remotes with kubota oem, thanks for the help.
