Anyone know if a spanner is available for the nut that holds the top link plunger and spring in? I saw one post that advised to take out the set screw (which I did) and use a punch to work it around. Hate to say it, but this one is going to take more than a punch to break it loose!

Hi -

The upper link adjustment nut on your tractor looks very similar to the one on my MF 302. For the 302, the spanner wrench needs to be 2 inches, center to center, with 1/4 inch diameter pins. Before you buy a 2 inch spanner, measure your tractor nut with a ruler to verify that yours is in fact 2 inches also.

To loosen the nut, I suggest the following: scrape away the yellow paint, and get some solvent (Kroil) on the threads.

The location of this nut is critical for the operation of the 3 point hitch. Note its current location (count the threads showing) before you disturb it.

I just bought a 2 inch spanner wrench - with 1/4 inch pins - on eBay. Here's the link to the seller:
NIP JH WILLIAMS 2" SPANNER WRENCH# 426 USA | eBay

Good luck!
