3 point stuck up

Ford 4600 loader works but suddenly the three point is stuck in the up position. I’m guessing the problem is in the push/pull selector valve under the seat? Anyone confirm or steer me in the right direction? Appreciate any input.

Assuming there's nothing mechanically busted internally which is unlikely, you have two possible valves. The three-point works as a hydraulic ram so you've got a piston and a cylinder. You've got a valve to pump fluid into your cylinder which is controlled by your three-point lever and then you've got a second valve to release fluid out of the cylinder which is controlled by your 3-point leak down. So either you've got one valve stuck open or the other one stuck shut.
Release valve controlled by your leak down knob is usually considerably simpler to access and take apart so I would start there first. Take it apart and see if anything's obviously broken or stuck

How much weight do you have on the three point? With no weight I could envision a small binding keeping the arms up. With weight it would be a different story. Just trying to eliminate the obvious.

Did the kids close your descent speed adjuster valve?

No kids here. Thanks though. I had the loader off the tractor to change out an injection pump and when I hooked it all up, the 3 point decided not to function and stayed in the upright position. The loader functions so it isn’t a “no hydraulics” problem.
