3 point Stabilizers

I search but didn't find this discussed anywhere. I have a 4035 and the stabilizers have a setting that allows a two inch (or so) play. Should I use that setting for the bush hog. How about the box blade or disc harrow? I've been setting the pins with no play at all for all of my implements, but saw where this can cause issue if you hit something. Just curious now, what most people do. Thanks
