3 point hitch not working

Hello,

The 3 point hitch on my Massey Ferguson 1080 will not lift. My PTO and multipower work but the arms are stuck in the down position. Anyone have suggestions?

Call Harry Ferguson, he sued Massey-Harris for $9million for using his 3-pt hitch mechanism! Not sure how it ended up Massey-Ferguson (but that might be part of it ) .

Just kidding. Have you checked all the linkages that operate the valves to the lift cylinder? Any pins missing?

Everything seems to be in order, nothing missing. It is worth mentioning as well that I haven't used the hitch in 2 years.

Sodo - Actually Harry Ferguson sued Henry Ford for using his Ferguson system (hydraulics) in the Ford 9N. Ferguson merged with Massey-Harris somewhat later.

OP - Stuff happens in storage. You may have a stuck control valve spool.

I think you are right Opti-Mist. I just hooked up my backhoe lines to the remotes and it is working. Is this part serviceable or does it need to be replaced?

On my BX24 ( sold it ) no hydraulics worked if I forgot to connect the backhoe loop together.
