I know you can add rear wheel weights , or liquid in the rear tires . But I there an attachment that will allow carrying of weights from the 3PH ? Thanks , John

Deere has a ballast box that quick attaches on theirs. It is a box that you fill with heavy stuff, and could also hold tools, chains, etc.

I already have a pond scoop, so I am adding weight to it for now...

Lots of folks use a box blade or other heavy implement. You might justify a heavier boxblade which also works better than a light one. You can add weight to the boxblade, too.

My owners manual covers ballasting pretty well, and it pretty much expects you to put ballast in the tires AND a rear balast.

I have seen your posts before, but just noticed your name /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My daughters boyfriend made this weight braket & hitch for me out of a carry all frame. It will hold 8 100lb weights.

When my sons were younger someone gave them a bunch of weight lifting stuff. They had several hundred pounds of those plastic covered cement weights which were replaced with cast iron weights as the boys got older.

I did not know what to do with these old plastic cement weights that were hanging around now until I needed a little more weight on the rear of the tractor. I got a piece of iron bar threaded the weights on it and placed it on the 3PH lift arms.

This was enough weight for what I needed to do and it took care of my problem of throwing the old but still good weights away. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Chris, Nice job ! I can't weld . So if I attempted something like that it wouldn't hold itself together ,let alone 800 pounds /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Randy , That's a great idea ! Especially considering my welding prowess . Thanks, John

John,
This is my rear ballast weight rack. It weighs 400 pounds and holds an additional 200 pounds of suitcase weights. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John,
I am a fan of a ballast box attached to my quick hitch. I have the JD version with 300# of old weightlifting weights and all the gravel that will fit, less the space occupied by two lengths of 4" PVC that I placed vertically in the after two corners. I use the PVC cylinders to safely and securely carry a chainsaw, a shovel, a prybar and whatever else I may need for the job at hand. I have additionally welded a bracket on the bottom of the box with a 3/4" hole in it that will fit a trailer hitch ball or a lynch pin in order to pull a stand alone chipper, a log splitter, a roller or any other pull along garden implement. I find the flexibility very useful.
