How do these compare for a trail maintenance tractor. Got a 14800 quote for the 2630 with FEL and a few hundred more for the 7800. Is 4 cyl vs 3 a big deal?

Um Yes. It is a lot quieter and doesn't labor at all

The sloping hood and loader arms of the B2630 and LA403 FEL will give you better visibility forward. The position control 3PH on the B2630 is much better than the 1/4 inching valve. Actually, I can not understand why Kubota does not make position control standard on all of their tractors. It is that much better, IMHO. I think you will have all the power you need with the B2630. However, I like the sound of the 4 cylinder engine over the 3 cylinder also. Both tractors will do what you want them to do. BTW, I think that is a great price on the B2630. Good luck.

that is a tough choice, 4 cyl & a few extra horses vs. position control & telescoping 3 pt.features. Tough call, flip a coin or just buy both

Or go with the 3030 and get it all in 1 package

Don't see how you could go wrong with either or stepping up to the 3030. Just waiting for the fog to lift, rain to subside, and Lodge work to slow down so I can go test all three side by side. I do like the 3PH position control(agree it should be standard on all models).
Timber, my needs are similar to yours and you sound very pleased with the 7800. Not sure of your stall configuration, but don't see how I can tractor mine as they are laid out now.

LOL I am absolutely in Love with my tractor. I could not be a happier man. I have 2 large box stalls and 1 strait stall. The layout is perfect. I go through the paddock into the barn and the stall doors are strait in. I can drive right into the stall with the tractor and muck it into the bucket and then back out and into the other 1. The strait stall is in the middle of the 2 box stalls. It is a perfect layout

IF you can get a 2630 and loader for $14800. you better jump on it. I paid $16000. for mine back in April. These things sip fuel.
