Tractor
Mahindra 2810 HST
Ok...I'm thinking of buying my FIRST tractor, and I've kind of narrowed it down to a 2615 or a 2810. I have about 6 acres and mostly want to mow, do some landscaping work (moving dirt & rocks, pulling cedar stumps, leveling), and push around brush piles. Any suggestions on which tractor would better suit my needs? The minimal difference in price vs features has me leaning toward the 2810. Thanks for any help!

I was trying to decide the same thing. I think either one would do the job. Are you looking at gear or HST. I finally picked the 2810HST because I liked the "feel" of it a little better. I like the HST with no clutch. It has a nice pedal arrangement with the dual forward and back HST pedals, instead of the rocker type, on the right along with a combined brake pedal. On the left are separate brakes for the left and right wheels for help in making tight turns, etc.

I am looking at a new 2615 gear ($13,200 with FEL) vs a used 2810 HST. I'm REALLY leaning toward the 2810 HST now.....188hrs , ~4yr old, and they're asking $11,900 with FEL.

Harley,
That doesnt sound bad at all, but the 2810 has no warranty from mahindra after 4 years. And a warranty is also worth something to you isnt it ?

I bought the 2810HST but looked at the 2615 when I purchased. They had just came out with the 15 series and didn't have a back hoe for it back then , and that is what I was looking for.

I have been very happy with the 2810HST and it is a lot heavyer that the 2615.

You will find a number of postings on both tractors, and everyone has had good things to say about each.

Good luck, either way you will be happy.............

Is there any way one of you 2810HST owners could snap a pic or two of the pedal arrangement for those of us who haven't seen it? That would be very helpful in my tractor decision!!

Thanx!

Yes...a warranty is definitely worth "something"....but I'm not sure it's worth the $5K difference for a new tractor. This used 2810 is at a Mahindra dealer.....and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it other than cosmetics (picture attached). I'll let you know more after I get a chance to look at it in person on Monday. Unfortunately it's at one of the local dealer's branches that's 100 miles away.

I would assume the 3510HST would be the same?????

The pedals on my 2810 HST are layed out so I don't even think about them.
With HST I hardly ever use the brake pedal on the right. Most of the time I use it only to lock the brakes to exit the machine.

I was surprised how much I use the pedals on the left to help
stear the machine in tight places.

It is a great machine if you are doing a lot of work with the loader . Your left hand is on the stearing wheel, your right hand on the FEL control, your right foot on the HST control, and your left foot on the left or right brake.

It makes for nice smooth and enjoyable operation.

The 2810HST has ground clearance like some of the bigger machines, and the front tires on my 2810HST are the same size as the Kioti DK40 I had.

My 2810 HST is great for working in the woods.

The 2310HST , 2810HST , and the 3510HST are the same tractor with different engines.

The 3510 is like the 4110, it is kind of confusing,
even though they are the same series there is a big difference in the 3510 and the 3510HST.
More than just the transmission.

Well...I took the plunge today. I bought a used 2810 HST (189hrs) with FEL, new 5' Agri-Five shredder, & new 5' Dale Phillips box blade...delivered to my door for $13K. The dealer (Bill's Tractor San Antonio) has to fix a bad saftey kill switch first and they should be delivering it later this week! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
